RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University soccer team announced the signing of Kaitlyn Andrews, head coach
Matt Cosinuke announced. Â
Â
"Kaitlyn is an exciting transfer for us," Cosinuke said. "She is a dynamic, talented attacking personality who has monster speed. We are excited to see her running the sidelines for us. She is an excellent person, and we look forward to her being a part of the EKU Soccer family," Cosinuke added.
Â
Andrews is a transfer from the University of Cincinnati where she appeared in 11 contests and had one assist in her time with the Bearcats. Â
Â
Before Cincinnati she was a three-year varsity player for Loveland High School in Cincinnati and helped lead her team to a state championship during her sophomore season. Andrews was a two-time all-conference selection and all-city first-team selection.
Â
On a club level Andrews played for Cincinnati Development Academy and Cincinnati United Premier. With CUP, she helped the team capture the 2017 state title and took runner-up honors at the national tournament. In 2018, Andrews helped lead CDA to the state cup title. She participated in the Allstate All-American cup game in Orlando, televised on ESPNU.
Â
Andrews helped lead her high school team to an ECC title after a pair of runner up finishes at the conference meet. During the regular season she ran an ECC fastest time in the 100 dash (12.41) and the 200 dash (25.06).
Â
