ATLANTA – Eastern Kentucky women's soccer earned two individual selections to the 2022 ASUN All-Academic Team in fifth-year student-athletes
Baylee Lanter and
Lauren Seedlock, announced by the conference office on Wednesday afternoon.
Wednesday's nods are the first postseason academic awards EKU has won since joining the conference last season.
Lanter, a Lexington, Ky. native, earned a cumulative 4.0 GPA while pursuing an MBA at EKU. The local product excelled on the pitch this season for the Colonels, starting in all 16 of the team's matches, eight of those playing all 90 minutes on the backline and helping the team achieve five shutouts.
With 16 appearances and 1,278 minutes played, Baylee recently entered the top-10 in program history in those respected categories, etching her name as one of the greatest defenders in EKU history.
Seedlock, a graduate keeper from Simpsonville, S.C., produced a 4.0 GPA while pursuing a degree in Pre-Health Services Administration at Eastern Kentucky. A transfer from Radford, has started in 12 matches on the season with 59 saves, six wins, and three shutouts.
Earlier in the season, Lauren earned ASUN Keeper of the Week honors on September 13th after earning two wins over UIC and Detroit Mercy, surpassing 100 career saves in the contests. For the majority of the 2022 season, Seedlock sat among the top-50 goalies in the country in saves.
Wednesday's selections are the first ASUN season honors for Lanter and Seedlock.
The Colonels open ASUN Championship play tomorrow against No. 5 Kennesaw State at 7:00 p.m. on the campus of Liberty University. Fans can view the contest live on ESPN+.
