DUBLIN – Eastern Kentucky University women's basketball heads to Ireland to compete in the 2022 MAAC/ASUN Dublin Basketball Challenge against Marist on Friday, November 18 at 7:30 a.m. ET and Rider on Saturday, November 19 at 2:30 p.m. ET.
Both games this weekend will be aired live on the ESPN family of networks, including Friday's game against Marist on nationally televised ESPNU. Saturday's game against Rider will be streamed on ESPN+.
Eastern Kentucky is coming off a two-game win streak over Appalachian State and Morehead State last week in Baptist Health Arena.
Redshirt senior
Antwainette Walker leads the Colonels through the first three contest averaging a double-double at 22.0 points and 10.3 rebounds per game.
Graduate
Danielle Rainey tallied a career-high 30 points in a win over App State, her point total surpassed Walker's 29 season-leading points in the opener against Evansville. The value was the highest scored by an individual player since the 2017 season.
This weekend's challenge marks the first team from the EKU Athletics Department to compete in Europe.
Four teams from the women's and men's side of the ASUN/MAAC will compete in the field for a total of eight games. Representing the ASUN is Eastern Kentucky (W), North Florida (W), Stetson (M), and Central Arkansas (M). The four squads from the MAAC are Marist (W), Rider (W/M), and Niagara (M).
