Colonels Host Liberty On Saturday

RICHMOND, Ky. –
Eastern Kentucky will host Liberty on Saturday at McBrayer Arena.
 
The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. ET and will air live on ESPN+.  The live radio broadcast of the game is available in the Richmond area on WCYO 100.7 FM, and can be heard worldwide on EKUSports.com.
 
The game is the second of two straight Faculty & Staff Appreciation Games.  All EKU faculty and staff can claim two free tickets for the game against Kennesaw State and Saturday's game against Liberty.  Additional tickets can be purchased for a discounted rate online.  All tickets are digital and can be claimed online by clicking here.
 
INSIDE THE SERIES
-  The all-time series with Liberty is tied 2-2.
 
- The two teams met for the first time on Dec. 17, 1988.  The teams played a home-and-home series during the 1988-89 season with Liberty winning both.  The next season, EKU beat the Flames 79-78 in Richmond.
 
-  The most recent meeting came on Nov. 18, 2011 with the Colonels earning a 73-65 win in Lynchburg.
 
THE COLONELS
-  Eastern Kentucky is 11-12 and 3-6 in the ASUN Conference after beating Kennesaw State, 82-81, in triple overtime on Thursday.
 
-  Cooper Robb had a career-high seven assists against Kennesaw State.  He also scored 16 points and grabbed eight rebounds.
 
-  Over his last four games, Michael Moreno has hit on 54.3 percent of his shots from the field (25-of-46).  He had 21 points and nine rebounds against Kennesaw State.
 
-  EKU leads the ASUN Conference and is 13th in the nation with an average of 81 points per game.
 
-  EKU is first in the ASUN, and fourth in the nation, in 3-pointers per game (12.04).  Eastern Kentucky is fourth in the country in 3-pointers made (277) and first in 3-pointers attempted (781).
 
-  The Colonels are 11th in the country in total assists (383) and 18th in assists per game (16.65/game).
 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
-  Liberty is 16-7 overall this season and 7-1 in ASUN games.  The Flames have won two in a row since suffering their only league loss, against Jacksonville State (77-67) at home.   
 
-  Liberty beat Bellarmine 66-53 on Thursday in Louisville.  Shiloh Robinson led four players in double figures with 17 points and grabbed a game-best 12 rebounds.  Darius McGhee had 13 points, five assists and three rebounds.  The Flames shot 44 percent from the field while holding the Knights to 35 percent overall, including 5-of-22 from 3-point range.
 
-  McGhee, a 5-foot-9 senior guard, leads the team and the conference in scoring at 22.1 points per game.  He has hit 46 percent of his shots from the field, 40 percent from deep and 90 percent at the free throw line.  Robinson, a 6-foot-7 junior forward, contributes 10.4 points and 4.4 rebounds per game while knocking down 62 percent of his shots from the field.
 
-  As a team, Liberty is second in the ASUN and 11th in the nation in scoring defense, allowing just 59.7 points per game.  The Flames have the best field goal percentage defense (39 percent) and the second-best 3-point field goal percentage defense (30.5 percent) in the conference.
