FLORENCE, Ala. – EKU has won four straight weekend series after beating North Alabama, 7-4, on Saturday.

The Colonels (13-7, 2-0 ASUN) won the series opener on Friday 8-6.

Will King scored on a wild pitch to tie it.Â
Jalen Jones followed with a two-out, two run single to make it 3-1.

One inning later, King doubled EKU's run total with one swing of the bat. After
Kendal Ewell singled and
Logan Thomason walked, King hit a three-run shot to make it 6-1.

The Lions (5-12, 0-2 ASUN) whittled away, scoring one in the third, one in the fifth and one in the seventh. Reid Homan's RBI double in the bottom of the seventh made it a 2-run game, 6-4, but North Alabama never got any closer.

Just as they had the night before, the Eastern Kentucky tandem of
Garrett Langrell and
Will Brian combined to shut down UNA in the late innings. Langrell got the first two batters of the eighth, including one swinging. Brian earned his eighth save after pitching one and one-third innings and striking out three.

Jones went 2-for-4 with two RBIs. King finished 1-for-2 with a walk, two runs and three RBIs. EKU starter
Rese Brown (2-2) allowed three runs on five hits, walked four and struck out five over five innings.

Austin Thrasher went 3-for-4 with two runs scored for the Lions.
