CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – EKU held Austin Peay scoreless for the final 5:46 and closed the game on a 12-0 run to earn a 74-59 win on Saturday in Clarksville.

Devontae Blanton missed on the EKU end as well, but the junior grabbed his own rebound and sank a short baseline jumper for a 65-59 lead with 4:03 to go. The Colonels made 4-of-5 at the free throw line down the stretch.

Blanton had 20 points, 11 rebounds, four assists and two steals.Â
Isaiah Cozart added 12 points, six rebounds and was credited with two blocks.Â
Dardan Kapiti contributed nine points, four rebounds, four assists and one block.

The Colonels (13-8, 6-2 ASUN) hit on only 2-of-14 from 3-point range, but out-rebounded the Govs 40-27. EKU pulled down 16 rebounds off the offensive glass and turned those boards into 22 second chance points. The Colonels turned the ball over only nine times and turned APSU's 18 turnovers into a 21-5 edge in points off turnovers.

Up by one in the first half, EKU scored 10 unanswered to get a 17-6 lead after a pair of free throws from
Leland Walker. A 3-pointer from the left wing by
Cooper Robb stretched it to a 13-point margin, 21-8.Â
John Ukomadu's lay-up with 6:16 to go in the opening period gave the Colonels a 14-point lead, 34-20.

Austin Peay whittled the deficit down, getting within four, 40-36, on a 3-pointer from Carlos Paez with 1:16 before the break. EKU put in the final two baskets of the half and took a 44-36 edge into the locker room.

The Governors closed within six three times early in the second half before Cameron Copeland connected on a 3-pointer to make it a 3-point game, 50-47, with 14:15 left to play. EKU went back in front by eight, 62-54, before Copeland made another 3-pointer and Hutchins-Everett connected on his jumper, the final points of the game for Austin Peay.

The Colonels continue a stretch of three straight road games on Thursday when they travel to Louisville to face in-state rival Bellarmine. The game is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.
