RICHMOND, Ky. – Eastern Kentucky University's men's basketball non-conference schedule will feature seven games against teams that won 20 or more last season, four games against teams that played in last year's NCAA Tournament and six games against squads that finished third or better in their conference.

Season tickets are on sale now and can be purchased online at EKUSports.com or by calling 859-622-2122. Fans can also purchase season tickets in person from 9-5 p.m. at the ticket office located in the Olympic Sports Training Center.

The Colonels will begin the 2023-24 season at home on Nov. 7 against West Virginia Tech. The team will play a home contest against Wilberforce on Nov. 10.

A multi-team event will be played in Richmond from Nov. 17-21. The Colonels will face Tennessee-Martin on Nov. 17. UTM won 19 games, an 11-game improvement over the year before, and placed third in the Ohio Valley Conference a year ago. The Skyhawks are picked second in the OVC this season. UT Martin and Prairie View A&M will play each other on Nov. 19. The event concludes with EKU and PVAM playing on Tuesday Nov. 21 at 12 p.m. More than 1,500 local elementary and middle school students are expected to be in Baptist Health Arena for the early afternoon tilt.

The first of two games against Troy will be played in Richmond on Nov. 27. The Trojans went 20-13 last season. The two teams will meet again on Dec. 21 in Troy, Alabama.

The latest edition of the Battle of the Bluegrass will take place in Bowling Green on Dec. 3 when the Colonels face in-state rival Western Kentucky. WKU was picked to place third in Conference USA this year.

After hosting North Carolina-Greensboro last season, EKU will play the Spartans on the road this year on Dec. 7. UNCG finished 20-12 in 2022-23. The Colonels will play host to Bethany College on Dec. 10.

EKU's contest at Louisiana on Dec. 13 will be its first of four games against teams that made the NCAA Tournament last March. The Ragin' Cajuns went 26-8 and won the Sun Belt Conference Tournament.

The Colonels will return to Richmond for a rivalry game against Northern Kentucky on Dec. 17. The Norse captured the Horizon League Tournament title, advanced to the NCAA Tournament and finished 22-13 a year ago.

While in Alabama to face Troy on Dec. 21, EKU will play at the University of Alabama on Dec. 23. The Crimson Tide were 31-6 last season, won the Southeastern Conference regular season and tournament titles and advanced to the NCAA Sweet 16.

December ends with a game on the 29th at Purdue, the fourth opponent who played in the NCAA Tournament in 2022-23. The Boilermakers won the Big 10 regular season and tournament crowns and earned a No. 1 seed in the Big Dance. Zach Edey, a 7-foot-4 center, returns for his senior season after sweeping the six major National Player of the Year Awards last season.

The final non-conference game will come in the middle of the Atlantic Sun Conference schedule. The Colonels will host Chicago State on Feb. 14.

ESPN, The Almanac and Lindy's have projected EKU to win the ASUN this season. Four starters and a total of 11 players return from EKU's 2022-23 team that finished the season with a 23-14 record and advanced to the championship of the College Basketball Invitational (CBI). EKU returns 84 percent of its scoring, 74 percent of its rebounds, 88 percent of its assists, 74 percent of its steals and 76 percent of its blocks from 2022-23.

The ASUN portion of the schedule was announced during the summer. The five home-and-home opponents for the Colonels are Lipscomb, Austin Peay, Bellarmine, North Alabama and Central Arkansas.

Additional home games will be against Jacksonville, North Florida and Florida Gulf Coast. The three additional road opponents will be Queens, Kennesaw State and Stetson.
