RICHMOND, Ky. – Eastern Kentucky University is making a trip south to face Louisiana on Wednesday.

THE COLONELS
-  The Colonels (4-4) are coming off a 121-56 victory at home over Bethany College.  EKU shot a season-best 58.1 percent from the field in the game.
 
-  Michael Moreno made two 3-pointers against Bethany to move into first place on EKU's career 3-pointers list.  He moved past Matt Witt with 284 career makes from deep.
 
-  EKU had a season-high 22 steals and forced a season-high 29 turnovers against the Bison.  The Colonels now lead the Atlantic Sun Conference with 9.9 steals per game and rank 13th in the country in turnovers forced at 16.88 per game.
 
-  For the season, EKU has out-rebounded its opponents by 7.9 rebounds per game, which is the 25th-best margin in the nation.  Louisiana has been out-rebounded this year by 2.7 boards per game.
 
-  John Ukomadu recorded his first career double-double against Bethany, finishing with 18 points and 16 rebounds.  He made 9-of-10 attempts from the field, dished out three assists, had two steals and made two blocks.
 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
-  Louisiana is 5-4 overall this season.  The Ragin' Cajuns have lost two straight, including a 72-67 set-back at Louisiana Tech on Saturday.   
 
- Kobe Julien, a 6-foot-6 redshirt junior forward, leads the team and the Sun Belt Conference with an average of 20.6 points per game.  He is also contributing 4.3 rebounds, 1.8 assists and a team-best 1.9 steals per game while shooting 50 percent from the field and 48 percent (24-for-50) from 3-point range.
 
-  Joe Charles, a 6-foot-7 junior forward, is second on the team with 11.7 points per game and leads the squad with 8.0 rebounds and 1.33 blocks per game.
 
-  Louisiana has been out-scored at the free throw line by 55 points this season.  The Ragin' Cajuns average 10 made free throws per game while their opponents are making 16 at the charity stripe each game.
 
-  The Ragin' Cajuns have held their nine opponents to 26 percent shooting from behind the 3-point line – a total of 38 made 3-pointers.  Louisiana is eighth in the nation in 3-point defense and has out-scored its foes by 147 points from deep.
 
INSIDE THE SERIES
-  This will be the third all-time meeting between the two teams, but first since the 1971-72.
 
-  EKU won the first meeting, 105-99, on Dec. 1, 1971 in Richmond.  The Ragin' Cajuns picked up an 87-80 win on Jan. 6, 1972 in Lafayette.
