Women’s Basketball Concludes Road Swing at SEMO on Tuesday

First Meeting Against Redhawks Since 2021

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Coming off a highly-anticipated mid-major matchup on Sunday to Chattanooga, EKU women's basketball (9-3) concludes its road trip with a date against Southeast Missouri State (2-7) on Tuesday, Dec. 19 at Show Me Center.
 
Tuesday's matchup with EKU's old conference foe is scheduled to tip at 7:30 p.m. EST, fans making the trip can purchase tickets for just $8 on the Redhawks' website.
 
Those not able to make the trip are encouraged to tune in via 92.5 WEKY with Wes Chandler courtside on the call 30 minutes prior to tipoff.  The game can also be found live on ESPN+ beginning five minutes before tip.

EKU Notes
- EKU is off to an 9-3 start to the season for the first time since 2001.
- Entering the week, EKU still receives votes in the CollegeInsider.com Mid Major Top 25 poll, one of two Atlantic Sun Conference teams on the rankings.
- Junior guard Kaitlyn Costner was granted immediate eligibility from the NCAA on Thursday morning. She recorded a career-high nine points in her EKU debut over Tennessee State.
Antwainette Walker enters play on Friday as the reigning ASUN Player of the Week for the second time this season, last week, Walker averaged 22.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 4.0 assists.
- Walker continues to lead the team, ASUN, and is top-10 in the NCAA in points per game (21.4).

All-Time vs. SEMO
- Tuesday's game is the 54th meeting between EKU and SEMO.  The Colonels lead the all-time series 33-20 and 24-10 in Cape Girardeau.  EKU has won six of the last eight games over SEMO on the road.
- EKU and SEMO meet for the first time outside of Ohio Valley Conference play on Tuesday.
 
Scouting the Redhawks
- SEMO is 2-7 to open its season coming off three consecutive losses to Indiana State, Missouri, and Purdue on the road.
- SEMO has yet to get a win over a NCAA Division I program.
- Head coach Rekha Patterson is in her ninth season at the helm with a 119-129 overall record.
- The Redhawks are coming off a 65-57 loss to Indiana State eight days ago, junior guard Jaliyah Green led SEMO with 23 points going 7-of-19 from the floor and 8-of-10 from the line.
- On the season, Green leads the program averaging 15.2 points per game.
