Colonels Shine At Mt. Sac Relays And Bryan Clay Invitational

RICHMOND, Ky. – Six Colonels competed at the Mt. Sac Relays and the Bryan Clay Invitational hosted by Azusa Pacific on April 13-15 in California.
 
At the Mt. Sac Relays, Pedro Garcia-Palencia finished in second place in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, clocking a personal-best time of 8:42.57. His time ranks No. 1 in the ASUN, No. 6 in the region and No. 15 in the country.
 
Enock Kipchumba posted a career-best 10,000-meter time of 29:45.34 finishing in 10th place at the Mt. Sac Relays. His time ranks No. 5 in the ASUN.
 
Hakim Abouzouhir ran a personal-best 5,000-meter time of 13:47.71 finishing in second place at the Mt. Sac Relays. His time ranks as the fifth-best in school history, No. 1 in the ASUN, and No. 21 in the region.
 
At the Bryan Clay Invitational, Ahmed Kadri (3:42.65 / No. 3 in the ASUN) and Jan Badia (3:43.09 / No. 4 in the ASUN) clocked personal-best times in the 1,500-meters. These times are the fastest at EKU in the past 30 years, as Kadri's time is the second-best in school history and Badia's time ranks third-best in program history.
 
Joan Tapias posted a 1,500-meter time of 3:48.03 at the Bryan Clay Invitational.
 
Next Up
The Colonels will host the Rick Erdmann Twilight at the Tom Samuels Track in Richmond on April 21-22.
