JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The EKU track and field teams added five more medals at the final day of the ASUN Outdoor Track & Field Championships at North Florida's Hodges Stadium on Saturday.
The men finished in third place with 81 points while the women scored 33 points for an eighth-place finish.
The Colonels had a strong start to the day, as
Emily Roesser,
Quantasia Perry,
Mallory Hodge, and
Joy Nwokike earned a bronze medal in the women's 4x100 relay with a time of 45.82.
Jake Welch earned a bronze medal in the men's 400-meters with a personal-best time of 47.71.
Quantasia Perry continued her momentum for the women's 100-meters, as she earned a silver medal with a time of 11.75.
Jan Badia received his first career outdoor medal in the 800-meters, posting a time of 1:50.17 to earn silver.
Enock Kipchumba got his second medal of this year's ASUN Outdoor Championship, posting a 5,000-meter time of 14:20.53 to earn silver.
Joan Tapias netted one point for the Colonels, posting a 1,500-meter time of 3:50.56 while Welch scored a point with a 200-meter time of 21.74.
Devin Taylor scored three total points for the Maroon and White, clocking a 200-meter time of 21.74 and a 100-meter time of 10.99.
T'ya Suber netted a point for EKU with a 200-meter time of 24.84.
Griffin Staude gave the Colonels three more points, posting a personal-best 5,000-meter time of 14:32.58.
Next Up
The Colonels will travel back to North Florida's Hodges Stadium for the NCAA East Preliminary on May 24-27. The participants for regionals will be announced on Monday, May 15.
