RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University women's golf team has released its 2023-24 schedule, announced by head coach
Mandy Moore on Tuesday afternoon.
The Colonels are primed to compete in 11 events beginning on September 15 and running through April 16, 2024.
EKU is scheduled to open the 2023-24 campaign on Friday, Sept. 15 in State College, Pa. at the Nittany Lion Invitational. EKU looks to improve from an 8th place showing at last year's event, shooting a three-round team score of 904 to beat out eight other schools.
The Colonels will wrap up the month of September with a showing at the Johnie Imes Invitational hosted by Missouri (Sept. 24-27). EKU placed fifth out of 15 teams in last year's tournament, senior
Rylea Marcum led the squad with a 219 (+3) and tied for sixth place.
EKU will hit the road three times during October, traveling over 2,665 miles, competing in the Iconic Classic in Las Cruces, N.M. (Oct. 8-11), the Lady RedWolves Classic in Jonesboro, Ark. (Oct. 15-17), and the White Sands Invitational in Nassau, Bahamas (Oct. 25-29).
The Colonels will appear in the Iconic Classic and White Sands Invite for the first time in program history. EKU will make its third appearance in the Lady RedWolves Classic on October 15, the team won the event during the 2021-22 season and placed eighth in last year's running.
To open the spring slate, EKU will head to the Sunshine State to play in the Columbia Classic at the Duran Golf Club from February 9-12.
EKU is scheduled for four events during March at the UNF Collegiate in Jacksonville, Fla. (March 3-5), Jackrabbit Invitational in Boulder Creek, Nev. (March 10-12), Georgia State Spring Invitational in Johns Creek, Ga. (March 24-27), and will end the month hosting the annual Colonel Classic at the University Club at Arlington beginning on March 31.
The Colonels competed in all four their tournaments in March last spring with two top 10 finishes at the Jackrabbit Invite and Colonel Classic.
Eastern Kentucky University is set to host the 28th running of the Colonel Classic from March 31-April 2. Since the inaugural Colonel Classic in the 1993-94 season, EKU has placed 5th-or-better in 19-of-28 (68 percent) events with seven championships, including three in the Coach Moore era.
EKU will then shift its sights on the program's third ASUN Championship on April 13-16 at RTJ Hampton Cove in Huntsville, Ala. In two seasons as a member institution of the league, EKU has placed inside the top 10 of the championship twice, including a fourth place result in 2021-22.

EKU welcomes two newcomers to Richmond in
Claira Beth Ramsey, freshman from Madison County and
Sadanun Sitanonth, transfer from Texas Southern to its roster, eyeing their first seasons in the maroon and white.
As of Tuesday, August 1, EKU's roster stands at nine student-athletes.
