RICHMOND, Ky. – Zhansaya Bakytzhan and
Izem Elif Olcer won their first career collegiate doubles match from the No. 3 court, 6-4. Olcer also won her first career collegiate singles match from the No. 6 spot in a three-set thriller, 7-5, 4-6, 10-7. However, the Eastern Kentucky University women's tennis team (1-3, 0-0 ASUN) lost by a score of 6-1 to Marshall (2-1, 0-0 SBC) on Thursday at the Greg Adams Tennis Center.
To begin the dual match, the Herd won in doubles from the top two courts to take a one-point advantage.
Olcer won from the No. 6 court in singles play, but the Herd won from the top five courts to clinch the match.
