Colonels In Windy City To Face Chicago State

CHICAGO, Ill. – After a week off from game action, Eastern Kentucky University will play at Chicago State on Tuesday.
 
The game will begin at 7 p.m. ET and air live on NEC Front Row.  The live radio broadcast of the game is available in the Richmond area on WCYO 100.7 FM, or worldwide on EKUSports.com.
 
THE COLONELS
-  EKU (2-1) took a 54-50 lead over Clemson on Mayar Wol's 3-pointer with 12:50 left in the game, but the Tigers rallied for a 75-62 win on Tuesday.
 
-  The Colonels held Clemson to 29 percent shooting from 3-point range (7-for-24) and 14.5 points below its season average.  The Tigers came into the game having hit on 48 percent from deep and averaging 89.5 points.
 
-  Devontae Blanton scored a game-high 23 points on 10-of-15 shooting from the field against Clemson.  The senior grabbed six rebounds as well.  In his last two games, Blanton is averaging 21.5 points, 5.7 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game while shooting 56 percent from the field.
 
-  The Colonels are 2-0 this season, and are now 66-17 (.795) under A.W. Hamilton, when scoring 80-plus points.
 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
-  Chicago State is 0-4, with a 105-58 loss at Texas and an 82-37 loss at San Francisco in its last two games.  
 
- The Cougars average 57 points per contest and are being out-scored by an average of 30 points per game.
 
-  Jalen Forrest, who has come off the bench in each of the first four games, leads the team in scoring (9.8 ppg) and rebounding (4.8 rpg), but has shot just 31 percent from the field.
 
-  As a team, CSU is hitting 32 percent of its shots from the field while allowing its opponents to knock down 47 percent.
 
INSIDE THE MATCH-UP
-  Through the first three games of the season, EKU has held its opponents to 27 percent (17-for-63) shooting from 3-point range.  The Colonels held ETSU to 25 percent shooting from deep (6-for-24) and Clemson to 29 percent (7-for-24).
 
-  The Cougars are 24-for-89 from 3-point range this season for 27 percent.

-  A 17-1 first half run fueled EKU's, 86-73, victory in last season's game.  Isaiah Cozart led EKU with 19 points and nine rebounds.  Leland Walker added 14 points and five assists.  Wesley Cardet Jr. and Camer Jernigan had 16 points each for Chicago State.  Jernigan grabbed a game-best 13 rebounds.  EKU shot 53 percent from the field for the game and out-rebounded the Cougars by five, 37-32.
