Soccer Continues ASUN Tournament Run Against No. 4 Seed North Florida

Winner Advances to Face Top Seed FGCU on Road

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The No. 5 seeded EKU women's soccer team will continue its run in the 2024 Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament against No. 4 North Florida in a true road match on Sunday night at Hodges Stadium.
 
Sunday's match is scheduled to kickoff at 6 p.m. EST under the lights and can be streamed live on ESPN+.  Those wishing to see the Colonels live in person can purchase tickets online here.  
 
The winner of Sunday's quarterfinal contest will advance to the semifinals and face No. 1 seed Florida Gulf Coast on Nov. 7 in Fort Myers.

EKU is coming of a 1-1 draw against No. 8 seed Jacksonville, advancing past the Dolphins with a 5-4 showing in penalty kicks after 110 minutes of play.  Third Team All-ASUN selection Rachel Robinson scored the equalizing goal in the 87th minute and senior midfielder Kylie Fitzgerald made the winning PK for the win.
 
The Colonels out-shot the Dolphins by 17 shots, led by four shots apiece from forwards Maddy Murphy, Ella Grode, and Ana Manning.
 
A win on Sunday would mark appearances in the ASUN Tournament semifinals in three of the program's four seasons as a member institution in the league.  EKU has qualified for the field in all four of its seasons in the conference.
 
Scouting North Florida
UNF is coming off a 3-1 win over Jacksonville to end the regular season in the River City Rumble.  The Ospreys have won their last four matches heading into Sunday's quarterfinal matchup.
 
North Florida is led by ASUN Defensive Player of the Year Zara Siassi and Second Team All-ASUN forwards Paige McSwigan and Bella Pontieri – who have combined for 13 of the team's 27 goals this season.  Third Team All-ASUN goalkeeper Sofia Miliancano has started in 18 games this season with 52 saves, six shutouts, and a 1.11 GAA.

History vs. North Florida
Sunday's conference tournament match marks the fourth meeting between UNF and EKU since the Colonels joined the league in 2021.  North Florida leads the all-time series 1-2 and last won over EKU in the regular season with a 2-1 decision in Jacksonville.
