PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Eastern Kentucky University's men's basketball team is set to play Pittsburgh on Wednesday at the Petersen Events Center.

THE COLONELS
- EKU improved to 5-4 this season after beating Campbellsville-Harrodsburg, 98-62, on Friday.

Devontae Blanton ranks fifth in the conference in scoring (16.11 ppg), third in field goal percentage (51.2 percent), fifth in offensive rebounds (2.89/game), eighth in assists (3.67 apg), ninth in rebounding (6.22 rpg), ninth in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.74) and 11th in steals (1.44 spg).

A.W. Hamilton, when scoring 80-plus points.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
- Pittsburgh is 8-2 overall and 1-0 in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). The Panthers were ranked No. 18 in the nation after starting the season 7-1, but dropped out of the polls after a 90-57 loss at Mississippi State last Wednesday.
- Jaland Lowe leads the team in scoring (17.1 ppg) and assists (4.9 apg). The 6-foot-3 sophomore guard has shot 39 percent from the field and 28 percent from 3-point range.
- Ishmael Leggett, a 6-foot-3 senior guard, is close behind Lowe at 17 points per game and is also the team's second leading rebounder at 6.2 boards per contest. The 2023-24 ACC Sixth Man of the Year and second team all-conference selection is connecting on 49 percent of his shots from the field.
- Pittsburgh is shooting 32 percent from 3-point range as a team this season.

- Pitt is 34th in the NCAA in turnovers per game (10.0) while the Colonels are 18th in the nation in turnovers forced per game (16.67). EKU ranks 16th nationally in turnover margin this season at +5.4 per game.

INSIDE THE SERIES
- Pitt leads the all-time series 3-0. The two teams played a home-and-home series in the 1979-80 and 1980-81 seasons. The most recent meeting was on Nov. 19, 2009 in Pittsburgh. The Panthers won that game 71-60.
- In that 2009 meeting, EKU pulled to within eight points of Pittsburgh with just over a minute to play, however, the Panthers were able to stave off the late rally and defeat the Colonels at the Peterson Events Center. The game was part of the 2009 O'Reilly Auto Parts CBE Classic. Justin Stommes led all scorers with 24 points on 9-of-14 shooting including 3-of-7 from deep. Josh Taylor, in his return to his hometown, scored 11 points and knocked down three trifectas. Ashton Gibbs paced Pitt with 20 points while Nasir Robinson contributed 15 points. The Panthers out-rebounded EKU 47-25 on the night.
