RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University women's tennis team (9-11, 2-1 ASUN) won its second straight Atlantic Sun Conference match by a score of 5-2 against Queens (0-15, 0-4 ASUN) on Wednesday at the Tom Higgins Outdoor Courts.
To begin the dual match,
Madison Hill and
Sasha Parkhomenko won their doubles match from the No. 3 position, 6-2.
Zhansaya Bakytzhan and
Masha Fedenko earned a win in doubles from the No. 2 court, 6-2, as the Colonels entered singles play with a one-point advantage.
Parkhomenko won her singles match in straight sets from the No. 2 spot, 6-2, 6-3.
Marilou Cote dominated to win her singles match in straight sets from the No. 3 court, 6-0, 6-2.
Bakytzhan clinched the match for the Colonels, winning her singles contest in straight sets from the No. 6 position, 6-2, 6-1.
Izem Elif Olcer won her eighth singles match of the season in straight sets from the No. 5 spot, 6-1, 6-3.
Emmeline Polevoi earned the victory in singles from the No. 4 court in a three-set thriller, 5-7, 7-6 (7-3), 11-9.
