RICHMOND, Ky. – Rivalry Week! Eastern Kentucky University women's soccer meets Morehead State for the 17th running of the Bluegrass Cup on Thursday afternoon at EKU Soccer Field. The first fixture between the two programs since EKU left the Ohio Valley Conference in 2021.
Fans looking to see the rivalry game in Richmond can enjoy free admission to the EKU Soccer Field, gates will open one hour and 30 minutes before the 4 p.m. EST kickoff. Thursday's match is the 2024 Home Opener, there will be free t-shirts and cowbells while supplies last.

EKU opened the 2024 season with two losses after dropping road contests at Miami University (0-4) and East Tennessee State (0-1) last week.
The Colonels are led offensively by freshmen forwards

Ella Grode, who have combined to go 6-of-8 (.750) in shots on goal and over 47 percent of the team's total shots.
Additionally, freshman goalkeeper
Ruby Morgan made her collegiate debut in the second half of EKU's 1-0 loss at ETSU on Sunday. The Washington, Pa. native recorded two saves and did not allow a goal on 13 shots faced.
History vs. Morehead State
Thursday's contest is the 17th meeting between the in-state rivals, who go for the Bluegrass Cup after each competition against each other.
Morehead State leads the head-to-head series 8-6-2, however, EKU has won four of the last five meetings dating back to 2016 and have outscored the Eagles by a wide 7-goal margin. The Bluegrass Cup has remained in Richmond for over eight years.
