LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Eastern Kentucky men's tennis team opened up the 2024-25 season at the Louisville Invitational. The Colonels took on nine different teams, including six who finished the Spring 2024 season ranked in the ITA Top 75.

Mario Monclus Martin had great showings to open up the season, going 2-1 in singles play over the three-day tournament. Parhar also grabbed a win on the doubles courts, teaming up withÂ
Kristoffer Stahlbrand.
Five other Colonels recorded at least one win in singles play in
Nuno Pinheiro,
Fernando Bulnes,
Adrian Contreras,
Ryan Kitchin and
Pepe Miralles. Three other EKU pairs also picked up a win in doubles play with the teams of Pinheiro and
Romeo Elfving Navarro, Miralles and
Darko Kolevski, as well as Kitchin and Contreras.
The Colonels are back in action this coming Friday as they head to Normal, IL to take on the Illinois State Invitational. Women's tennis also gets their season underway on Friday as they travel to Nashville for the Lipscomb Invitational.
