RICHMOND, Ky. – Coming off wins in two of their last three games, the Eastern Kentucky University women's soccer team will end the week hosting Youngstown State on Sunday at the EKU Soccer Field.
 
Sunday's match is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. EST.  EKU athletics is partnering with the Madison County Humane Society to put on the Pups at the Pitch themed game.  All fans can bring their dogs to the venue and there will be a booth with adoptable dogs on site.  Admission is free for the match.

Last time out, EKU took down in-state foe Northern Kentucky 3-1 on the road behind a two-goal performance from junior midfielder Maddy Murphy.  Freshman forward Ella Grode also scored in the contest.
 
The Colonels have earned a point in each of their last three contests, with wins over NKU, Southern Indiana, and a draw against Eastern Illinois.  EKU's last three performances have moved the program up four spots the Atlantic Sun Conference standings, now tied for fifth with Austin Peay.
 
Grode, Murphy, and Ana Manning lead the club with two goals apiece on the season.  Manning continues to impress with her team-leading 21 shots through seven matches, which is top five in the ASUN Conference and top 100 nationally.
 
Grode has also recorded three points in each of her last two fixtures, averaging four shots per game in the span.
 
Scouting Youngstown State
YSU enters play on Sunday with an even .500 mark on the season and is coming off a 2-0 loss to St. Bonaventure on the road on Thursday.  Junior midfielder Taylor Berry leads the squad with two goals on the season but hasn't recorded a goal since Aug. 22 against St. Francis (Pa.).  The Penguins are currently second in the Horizon League tables.
