Thursday's result marks losses in four of the last six games for EKU (13-7, 3-4 ASUN) who dips below .500 in Atlantic Sun Conference play with 11 games left in the regular season.
As a team, the Colonels shot 25-for-66 (38 percent) from the floor and knocked down seven three pointers – all coming in the second half. EKU outrebounded Stetson by six boards, 37-31, marking the fifth consecutive game with 37 or more rebounds.
EKU's shooting woes were on display in the first half as the team shot 37 percent with only 11 made field goals. Despite the cold-shooting effort, Stetson (10-9, 4-3 ASUN) only outscored the Colonels, 38-29, in the first half.
In the third period, EKU made four threes and shot nearly 50 percent from the field to stage a three-point comeback, 53-50, at the end of the period.
The fourth quarter was all Stetson, who scored 33 points on 11-of-16 field goals to win Thursday's contest, 83-68. The Hatters' 33-point fourth quarter was the fourth most points allowed in a single quarter in program history.
EKU returns to action on Saturday facing FGCU in Fort Myers at 2 p.m. ET. The game can be streamed live on ESPN+.
