NASHVILLE, Tenn. – EKU women's basketball has its 10-game winning streak snapped falling to Lipscomb by a wide score of 79-48 on Saturday afternoon inside Allen Arena in the Music City.

Saturday's slip was EKU's first loss since Nov. 14, halting the program's longest win streak since 2004-05 at 10 consecutive games.
As a team, EKU (11-4, 1-1 ASUN) shot 30.5 percent from the floor and 24.2 percent from beyond the arch – marking the third lowest field goal percentage of the season for the Colonels and lowest total since Nov. 8 in a home loss to Tennessee State.
Lipscomb (9-4, 2-0 ASUN) outrebounded EKU by 14 boards and had career-best performance from junior guard Ainhoa Cea, who scored 25 points on 9-of-18 shooting and an impressive 5-for-6 mark from deep.

In the third period, EKU was able to outscore the Bisons, 17-12, off made threes from Costner,
Alice Recanati,
Althea Kara Angeles, and two made layups by McGinnis-Taylor.
Despite the improved effort on offense by the Colonels to open the second half, Lipscomb exploded in the fourth quarter with five made threes and a perfect 8-for-8 showing from the charity stripe going +19 over the period to end Saturday's game with a 79-48 victory.
The Bisons shot 94 percent from the free throw line, making 17-of-18 attempts, while forcing EKU into a season-high 21 turnovers.
Despite the loss, the Colonels had eight blocks against Lipscomb, the program's most blocks in a single game since March 3, 2017, in a win over SIU Edwardsville in the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament.
The Colonels return to action on Wednesday on the road against the ASUN Conference's newest member institution West Georgia at The Coliseum. The game can be streamed live on ESPN+ or heard on 92.5 WEKY with Wes Chandler on the call starting at 7 p.m. ET.
