Women’s Soccer Travels to North Alabama, Central Arkansas This Week

Longest Road Trip in Regular Season, EKU Enters Play on Two-Game Win Streak

FLORENCE, Ala. – Riding a two-match winning streak, the Eastern Kentucky University women's soccer team hits the road this week to face North Alabama and Central Arkansas.

The Colonels will take on North Alabama on Thursday under the lights at 8 p.m. ET. Fans can purchase tickets online here. EKU then travels to Central Arkansas for a Sunday matchup set for 2 p.m. ET. Both contests will stream live on ESPN+.

EKU (9-2-3, 4-1-1 ASUN) enters the week in second place in the ASUN Gold Division with 13 points after back-to-back victories over in-state rival Bellarmine, winning 5-1 and 2-1, respectively, in consecutive weeks.

Six different Colonels have scored over the past two matches, led by senior midfielder Maddy Murphy, who found the net in each win against the Knights.

This season, Murphy ranks second on the team with four goals and recently moved into the program's top 10 in career goals (8th), points (8th), and shots on goal (10th).

Junior midfielder Chiara Premoli became EKU's all-time leader in career assists last match, passing former teammate Gretta Gunn with 15. Premoli has recorded seven assists in back-to-back seasons, matching the program's single-season record.

In goal, freshman Jordan LeVasseur continues to impress after recently being named the No. 39 freshman in the country by TopDrawerSoccer. The Michigan native leads the ASUN Conference and ranks among the top 10 nationally in save percentage (.907) and saves per game (7.09).

As of Wednesday morning, EKU checks in at No. 35 in the latest NCAA RPI poll on October 13. The Colonels are the fourth-highest non P4 in the country behind Georgetown, Memphis, and Xavier.

Scouting North Alabama
North Alabama (7-4-4, 3-2-2 ASUN) sits right behind EKU in the ASUN Gold Division standings with 11 points. Since the two teams last played, a nil-nil draw in Richmond on September 28, the Lions have gained seven points in the tables with two wins against Austin Peay and a 1-1 draw on the road at current No. 1 Lipscomb.

On the year, graduate forward Alice Bussey leads UNA with four goals, 27 shot attempts, and 18 shots on goal. She's a one-time ASUN Player of the Week this season.

Scouting Central Arkansas
Central Arkansas (4-8-2, 1-4-2 ASUN) will welcome Bellarmine on Thursday before the Colonels come to town. In UCA's last four games, the Bears have suffered two losses to Lipscomb and had two draws against Austin Peay.

Forwards Trace Pavatt and Caroline Billings lead the team with five goals this season and have combined for 58 shot attempts.
