CINCINNATI – The Eastern Kentucky University women's soccer team suffered a 3-0 loss to Cincinnati in the 2026 season opener on Wednesday night at Gettler Stadium.
 
Sophomore goalkeeper Jordan LeVasseur led EKU with six saves on 15 shots faced, brining her career totals to 121 saves in 17 matches played. Wednesday's three goals allowed tied the highest mark of her young career.
 
EKU (0-1) attempted three total shots in the loss and had one look on goal by senior Rachel Robinson in the second half.
 
Robinson, a native of Louisville, attempted her shot in the 67th minute that was saved by Bearcat freshman goalkeeper Amber Brandon who recorded a shutout in her collegiate debut.
 
EKU freshmen Calista Everson and Ronnie Ariel earned starts in their collegiate debuts.
Everson, an Oregon native, logged 81 minutes on the backline while Ariel played 53 minutes in the midfield. Fellow freshman Kaitlyn Bothe also made her college debut playing 10 minutes as a reserve.
 
Cincinnati (1-0) opens its season in the win column behind three goals and a brace from junior forward and England native Tiana Campbell, registering her goals in the 33rd and 89th minutes. Freshman midfielder recorded UC's opening goal in the 20th minute rounding out the scoring attack.
 
EKU returns to action at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday at home against Cleveland State. The Colonels will be looking to defend their 15-match unbeaten streak at home dating back to the 2024 season.
