Hill, Trahan & Burke Earn Player Of The Year Awards, Five Colonels Earn All-ASUN

FORT MYERS, Fla. –
Three Eastern Kentucky University volleyball players earned player of the year awards, and five players were chosen to the All-Atlantic Sun Conference teams.
 
Emilee Hill was chosen as the ASUN Player of the Year, Cassidy Trahan garnered ASUN Defensive Player of the Year recognition and Addison Burke was picked as the ASUN Freshman of the Year.
 
Hill and Trahan earned First Team All-ASUN honors.  Burke and AG Hynes were chosen to the second team and Carson Ledford  earned a spot on the third team.
 
Burke and Trahan were also selected to the ASUN All-Freshman Team.  Hynes, Ledford, Hill and Lydia Stephens earned Academic All-ASUN recognition.
 
Hill averaged 2.65 kills, 5.96 assists, 3.10 digs, 0.46 blocks and 0.23 aces per set with a .264 attack percentage.  She was the lead setter in 2-setter system that generated a .259 team attack percentage, first in the ASUN.  The junior from Yorktown, Indiana had eight triple-doubles this season, no other ASUN player had any triple-doubles.  She was the only player in the ASUN to average more than 5.7 assists, 3.0 digs, 2.0 kills and 0.40 blocks per set.  Hill was a 2-time ASUN Player of the Week and ranked ninth in ASUN in assists per set.
 
Trahan averaged 4.24 digs, 1.38 assists and 0.17 aces per set.  She was first in the ASUN in digs per set.  The libero from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania was selected as the ASUN Defensive Player of the Week and ASUN Freshman of the Week on Nov. 3.  Trahan ranks 76th in nation in digs per set.  She had a season-high 30 digs in a win over Lipscomb, the fifth-most by an ASUN player this season.
Burke averaged 3.83 points, 3.23 kills, 2.32 digs, 0.42 aces and 0.30 blocks per set.  She was first in the ASUN in aces per set, fifth in points per set and sixth in kills per set.  The 2-time ASUN Freshman of the Week ranks 46th in NCAA in total aces and 64th in aces per set.  Burke had six aces against IU Indianapolis,  the second-most by an ASUN player this season.  The Fort Mill, South Carolina native had 16 kills against UT Rio Grande Valley, the fifth-most kills in 3-set match by an ASUN player this season.  Her 19.5 points against West Georgia was fourth-most points in 3-set match by an ASUN player this season.
 
Hynes averaged 2.87 kills and .63 blocks per set while hitting .341.  The senior right side was fourth in ASUN, and 118th in the NCAA, in hitting percentage.  Hynes hit .611 in a sweep at Central Arkansas, the eighth-highest by a player in ASUN this season.  The Athens, Georgia native was chosen as the Geri Polvino Invitational MVP.
 
Ledford averaged 1.75 kills, 0.96 blocks, 0.49 digs and 0.28 aces per set with a .364 attack percentage.  The senior middle blocker from Wilkesboro, North Carolina was third in ASUN in attack percentage and ninth in blocks per set.  She was selected to the preseason All-ASUN Team and ranks 67th in nation in hitting percentage.  Ledford's nine blocks in a win over Lipscomb were the seventh-most by an ASUN player this season.
 
The Academic All-ASUN selections each had a 3.70 or higher grade-point-average.Hill has a 3.76 GPA while majoring in psychology.She is also a 2-time ASUN Honor Roll member.Hynes carried a 3.70 GPA while completing an undergraduate degree in psychology and has a 4.0 GPA while pursuing a master's in general psychology/applied behavior analysis.She is a 2-time College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District pick and a 3-time ASUN Honor Roll member.
 
Ledford compiled a 4.0 GPA while completing an undergraduate degree in management and has a 4.0 GPA while pursuing a master's in business administration.She is a 2-time CSC Academic All-District pick and a 3-time ASUN Honor Roll member.Stephens has a 3.81 GPA while majoring in marketing.She is a 2-time ASUN Honor Roll member.
 
EKU tied for second in the conference standings and earned the No. 3 seed in the ASUN Tournament.  The Colonels will face No. 6 seed Queens in the first round on Thursday at 1 p.m. ET.  The winner will face the winner of the No. 2 Jacksonville/No. 7 North Alabama match in the semifinals on Friday at 4 p.m. ET.  The tournament championship is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET on Sunday.  All tournament matches will air live on ESPN+.
