RICHMOND, Ky. – Riding a five-game winning streak, the Eastern Kentucky University women's basketball team will host the United States Military Academy, Army West Point on Saturday at noon ET inside Baptist Health Arena.
Tickets start at just $5 and can be purchased online or at the arena. The game will stream live on ESPN+ with Wes Chandler and Kent Miller on the call, and will also be available for free on the Colonels All-Access page beginning at 11:30 a.m.
EKU (6-1) enters the matchup following a 73-60 road win at Morehead State before the Thanksgiving break. Senior forward
Joseana Vaz, the reigning ASUN Newcomer of the Week, led the Colonels with a career-high 21 points and 11 rebounds, her second straight double-double.

Liz Freihofer finished with 16 points and reached double figures for the seventh consecutive game, highlighted by a career-best 10-for-11 performance at the free-throw line.
Seniors
Ella Bradley and
Althea Kara Angeles added 11 and 10 points, respectively, each connecting on two 3-pointers. EKU hit nine threes overall and shot 28-of-31 from the free-throw line.
EKU continues to turn heads with its recent play, rating top 100 in the NCAA in over 18 statistical categories on both ends of the floor.
Some highlights early in the season are the Colonels' No. 8 rating in 3-pointers per game (10.4), No. 13 in 3-point attempts per game (29.4), No. 24 in defensive rebounds per game (30.7), No. 30 in assists per game (17.9), No. 31 in assist to turnover ratio (1.28), No. 31 in field goal defense (.340), No. 47 in scoring offense (79.0), and No. 67 in scoring defense (56.4).
The Colonels are either first or second in the ASUN Conference in all those categories and more.
Individually, Freihofer is 12th in the country in made 3-pointers (22) and 21st in 3-pointers per game (3.14). Vaz is 56th in the NCAA in rebounds (58).
Scouting Army West Point
Last season, Army finished 25-8 overall (14-4 conference) and were runners-up in the Patriot League Tournament. The Black Knights went on to play in the 2025 Women's National Invitational Tournament (WNIT) and advanced to the second round with a 59-58 win over Bryant. Army ranked 26th in the country in scoring defense and 22nd in turnovers forced.
Army (5-1) has five wins to start the new year. Junior forward Kya Smith leads Army with 16.2 PPG and 9.8 RPG, she's scored 15 or more points in her last three games against Oregon, New Hampshire, and Saint Francis.
Series History
Saturday's game against Army will put a bow on a home-and-home series started during the 2022-23 season. EKU won the only meeting between the two schools, clobbering the Black Knights on the road, 83-62, in December 2022.
