RICHMOND, Ky. – The Colonels of Eastern Kentucky had a record-breaking Fall semester in 2025 as the Colonels posted a 3.335 all-athlete grade point average (GPA), the highest ever all-athlete term GPA.
The historic academic achievement marks the 28
th consecutive semester that EKU student-athletes have produced an all-athlete term GPA of 3.0 or higher.
17 of the Colonels' 18 teams earned a 3.0 or higher fall, team GPA with the men's and women's tennis posting the best team fall GPAs in the department at 3.821 for the women and 3.763 for the men, both record highs since the programs' reinstatement in December of 2021 and return to play in the fall of 2022.
Other programs setting new highs in fall team GPAs were women's golf (3.86), men's golf (3.568), men's track & field (3.399), and football (2.984).
Individually, EKU Athletics had 89 student-athletes earn perfect semester GPAs of 4.0, with 155 Dean's List and President's Award honorees, and 272 individuals earn the title of Colonel Scholar, given to EKU students with a 3.0 or higher term GPA.
