RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University women's basketball team opens Atlantic Sun Conference play with a pair of home games this week at Baptist Health Arena, beginning with West Georgia on New Year's Day and continuing Saturday against Queens.
Thursday's matchup against West Georgia is scheduled for a 6:30 p.m. ET tipoff, while Saturday's contest against Queens will begin at 2 p.m. Tickets for both games start at $5 and can be purchased online or at the door.

EKU (9-4) closed non-conference play Monday with a 70-52 victory over Hampton, placing three Colonels in double figures.
Sophomore guard
Liz Freihofer recorded a 12-point, 13-rebound double-double, while senior forward
Joseana Vaz added 12 points and nine rebounds for her ninth double-figure scoring performance of the season. Senior guard
Ndidiamaka Ndukwe contributed 12 points off the bench, marking her second consecutive game scoring in double figures.
On the season, Freihofer leads EKU at 13.5 points per game and ranks second on the team with 6.8 rebounds per contest. Vaz is second in scoring at 12.8 points per game and leads the Colonels on the glass, averaging 7.5 rebounds. Freshman guard
Kenleigh Woods ranks third on the team at 9.5 points per game. All three have earned Atlantic Sun Conference weekly honors this season.
Monday's game marks EKU's fifth season in the ASUN Conference. The Colonels own a 30-27 (.544) record against league opponents since joining the conference in 2021 and are 3-1 in conference openers under head coach
Greg Todd.
Scouting West Georgia
West Georgia (7-4) enters Thursday's contest riding a three-game winning streak under fourth-year head coach Joanna Reitz. During the streak, the Wolves earned victories over Wesleyan College (116-21), Florida A&M (72-57) and Brewton-Parker (81-46).
UWG has three players averaging double figures this season. Sophomore guard Asia Donald leads the Wolves with 15.9 points per game, senior forward Jasmine Jones averages 15.1 points and 5.0 rebounds, and junior guard Sydne Tolbert, a Kentucky native, adds 12.8 points per contest.
Scouting Queens
Queens (6-5) travels to Bellarmine on Thursday before making its way to Richmond for Saturday's matchup. The Royals have won three of their last four games, with victories over Western Carolina, Carolina University and South Carolina Upstate.
Queens features two double-figure scorers, led by sophomore forward Brenae Jones-Grant, who averages 15.1 points and 8.7 rebounds per game. Senior guard Ana Barreto anchors the backcourt, averaging 12.1 points while totaling 33 assists on the season.
