JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – After leading EKU to a pair of road wins by an average margin of 21.5 points, senior
Devontae Blanton was chosen as the Atlantic Sun Conference Player of the Week on Monday.

Blanton averaged 19.5 points, 7.0 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals in victories over first place Florida Gulf Coast and Stetson. The wins gave the Colonels a 5-game winning streak.

The Macedonia, Ohio native shot 53% from the field and 43% from 3-point range in those two contests.

EKU (14-11, 8-4 ASUN) will play three straight at home starting Thursday against Atlantic Sun Conference newcomer West Georgia at 7 p.m.

Blanton finished with 17 points, seven assists, three rebounds and two steals in the Colonels' 92-74 win over ASUN leader FGCU. Two days later he scored 22 points, dished out seven assists again, had five rebounds and one steal in a 25-point victory at Stetson.

This season, Blanton ranks seventh in the conference in scoring (16.1 ppg), seventh in assists (4.1 apg), 10th in rebounding (6.4 rpg), 12th in field goal percentage (42%) and 12th in steals (1.2 spg).
