Women’s Tennis Downs Belmont on Saturday, 4-3

RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University women's tennis team picked up its second straight victory defeating old Ohio Valley Conference foe, Belmont, by a score of 4-3 on Saturday at the Greg Adams Tennis Center.
 
With the win, EKU (6-9) earned its third win over NCAA Division I opposition this season and are 2-1 in its current four-game home stand.  The Colonels won the doubles point over the Bruins and claimed three singles courts en route to victory.
 
Marilou Cote, Ceylin Ipek, and Izem Elif Olcer all won in singles play, two of the three wins came via straight sets while Olcer prevailed in a three-set thriller on court No. 5 for the clincher.
