Men’s Tennis Begins Conference Play Hosting North Florida on Sunday

RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University men's tennis team will open Atlantic Sun Conference play hosting North Florida on Sunday afternoon at the Greg Adams Tennis Center.
 
Sunday's match is scheduled to start at 2 p.m. ET, admission is free for all EKU Tennis events for the duration of the 2024-25 season.  Those not able to be in attendance can find live stat coverage of the game here.
 
EKU (7-11) will open league play winners in three of its last five matches and winners of two-straight over Belmont and Southern Indiana.  The Colonels are 6-1 at home this season.
 
On the year, junior Nuno Pinheiro leads EKU with an 11-1 overall record in singles play, he is 10-1 from the Colonels' top two courts.  The Portugal native will enter conference play as a winner in his last five matches.
 
From EKU's top court, junior Fernando Bulnes has a 5-4 overall record and won last time out against Southern Indiana's Axel Sabourin, 6-2, 6-3.  Other notables, senior Ryan Kitchin sports a 7-3 overall record in singles play this year.
 
Sunday's match marks the first of an 8-match conference slate for EKU which will run from March 16 until April 6.  
 
The Colonels will have three home contests against North Florida (March 16), North Alabama (April 4), and Lipscomb (April 6).  EKU will also travel for five road matches against Stetson (March 21), Queens (March 22), FGCU (March 23), Austin Peay (March 28), and Bellarmine (March 30).
