DELAND, Fla. – The Eastern Kentucky University men's tennis program will head to Florida for three Atlantic Sun Conference matches from March 21-23.

The Colonels will open the Sunshine State slate with a true road match on Friday at Stetson starting at 2 p.m. ET.  EKU will then head to Orlando for a neutral site battle with Queens on Saturday at 1 p.m.  The road swing ends on Sunday with a 3 p.m. true road match at FGCU.

EKU (7-12, 0-1 ASUN) opened conference play last week dropping a 4-3 thriller at home against North Florida, snapping a two-match win streak.  The Colonels won the doubles point convincingly with a 6-2 win on flight one and a 6-1 win on flight three.  In singles, EKU needed just three wins but came up short dropping four courts.

On the year, junior Nuno Pinheiro leads the club with an 11-2 overall record in singles play and sports a 10-1 record from EKU's top two courts.  The Portugal native is a two-time ASUN Conference Player of the Week recipient this season, however, dropped his first conference match in three sets to this week's player of the week, UNF's Andreas Scott.

Additionally, junior Fernando Bulnes enters the road trip 1-0 in conference play after taking down UNF's Bruno Vietri in three sets last weekend, one of the Colonels' two singles wins over the Ospreys.  He won 6-1, 4-6, 7-6 on court No. 2 to move to 6-4 overall this season in singles play.
