RICHMOND, Ky. - As the Indoor season comes to a close, the Eastern Kentucky University track & field teams are ready to kick off the Outdoor schedule as they host the EKU Spring Meet on Friday.
The one-day meet will take place at the Tom Samuels Track. Thirteen schools will be competing on the day, including the Colonels. The full list of schools competing is Bellarmine, Berea, Charleston (W.V.), Dayton, Kentucky State, Lincoln Memorial, Morehead State, Pikeville, Rio Grande, Spalding, Union (Ky.), Xavier, and EKU.
The Colonels come into the outdoor season following an indoor schedule that saw multiple new school records.

Bahiya El Arfaoui set new top marks in the men's shot put and women's 800m.
Meanwhile,
Taha Er Raouy and
Justine Kipkoech became the first two Colonels in program history to run a sub-four minute mile - with Er Raouy currently holding the record.
The indoor season was capped off with Kipkoech and
Lariah Wooden sweeping the honors for ASUN Outstanding Freshman. Wooden's debut season contained several gold medals, including the program's first indoor shot put conference title since 1986.
The outdoor season gets going with the women's hammer throw at 10 AM, while track events get underway at 11:45 AM with the men's 4x100 relay.
