Blanton & Kimble Earn All-ASUN Honors, Wol Named Top Sixth Man

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. –
 Devontae Blanton earned First Team All-Atlantic Sun Conference honors, George Kimble III was chosen to the second team and Mayar Wol was selected as the ASUN Sixth Man of the Year, the league announced today from its Jacksonville, Florida headquarters.
 
EKU has now had at least one first team all-conference selection each of the past three seasons and a total of four first team picks during that time.  All postseason honors were voted on by ASUN head coaches.
 
Blanton was the only player ranked in the top-15 in the conference in points (5th), assists (3rd), field goal percentage (9th), rebounds (10th) and steals (15th).  He averaged 16.9 points, 6.2 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.2 steals while shooting 43% from the field.
 
The senior wing from Macedonia, Ohio was a 2-time ASUN Player of the Week selection.  He ranks ninth in the NCAA in field goals made, 46th in assists and 53rd in points.  Blanton posted six double-doubles, the third most in the ASUN.  He is the first EKU player in program history to reach 1,600 career points, 800 rebounds and 400 assists.
 
Blanton was also a first team all-conference selection in 2023-24.
 
Kimble ranked second in the ASUN in scoring, first in steals, first in free throw percentage, fifth in 3-point field goal percentage, sixth in 3-pointers made, 13th in assists, 14th in assist-to-turnover ratio and 15th in field goal percentage.  He averaged 18 points, 3.7 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 2.6 steals per game.
 
The sophomore from Tampa, Florida ranks sixth in the nation in steals per game, 69th in points per game and 72nd in free throw percentage (85.1%).  He earned ASUN Newcomer of the Week honors twice and ranked fourth in the conference with 11 games of scoring 20 or more points.  Kimble's seven steals against Eastern Illinois and 16 free throws at Austin Peay were the most by any ASUN player this season.
 
Wol came off the bench during EKU's 8-game winning streak that changed its season.  In those eight games, he averaged 13.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 0.7 blocks.  For the season, Wol averaged 8.9 points and 4.8 rebounds.
 
The sophomore forward from Raleigh, North Carolina was chosen as the ASUN Newcomer of the Week on Feb. 18.  He averaged 12 points and 5.6 rebounds in five games against the top three teams in the conference – Lipscomb, North Alabama and Florida Gulf Coast.  Wol scored a career-best 25 points against West Georgia and had a career-high nine rebounds against FGCU.
