EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The Eastern Kentucky University men's tennis team will face Southern Indiana on Friday afternoon at the USI Tennis Courts.
Friday's match is scheduled to start at 2 p.m. ET and will be the last non-conference game of the regular season.
EKU (6-11) is coming off a 4-2 win over Belmont last Sunday at the Greg Adams Indoor Tennis Center. The Colonels claimed the doubles point with 6-4 victories on court Nos. 1, 2 and prevailed on three singles courts.
In singles, EKU's
Nuno Pinheiro,
Kartik Parhar, and
Ryan Kitchin had wins to meet the four-point threshold needed to defeat Belmont.
Pinheiro's straight set win on No. 2 over Sabi Roi garnished him as a finalist for the ASUN Men's Tennis Player of the Week award while Kitchin's win clinched the match in a three-set thriller on court No. 6.
