EUGENE, Ore. – Eastern Kentucky University's
Kristian Imroth qualified for the finals of 3,000m steeplechase at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Wednesday night.
The Brit took first place in his semifinal heat to secure his place in Friday's final with a personal best time of 8:30.65.
Hanging in the middle of the pack for most of the race, Imroth surged over the final 200m, clearing the field down the back stretch.
Imroth now prepares to attempt to follow in the footsteps of Ahmed Jaziri, the former Colonel turned Olympian, who claimed the National Championship in the steeplechase in 2022.
