RICHMOND, Ky. – Four members of the Eastern Kentucky University track and field program were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Track & Field/Cross-Country teams on Tuesday afternoon.
The four earning the honor are
Kristian Imroth,
Miguel Baidal,
Mario Priego Montero, and
Kristan Simmons.
The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Cross Country/Track & Field teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes cross country/track & field honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.
Imroth has a 3.66 cumulative GPA while working on an MBA at EKU. He won the 1,500 meters at the ASUN Outdoor Championships and clocked the 16
th fastest 3,000-meter steeplechase time in the NCAA this season en route to finishing third at this year's outdoor national championship.
Priego Montero has a 3.72 cumulative GPA while working on an MS Exercise & Sport Science / Sports Administration. He took bronze in the 1,500 meters at the ASUN Outdoor Championships.
Baidal is the reigning ASUN champion in the indoor and outdoor 5,000 meters. Baidal has a 3.75 GPA while working on a degree in Sport Management / Management.
Simmons took silver in the discus and fourth in the hammer at the ASUN Outdoor Championships. Her silver medal discus toss was the second-best in school history. She currently has a 3.5 GPA while working on a degree in Exercise & Sport Science / Pre-Athletic Training.
