EUGENE, Ore. – Edna Chelulei and
Bahiya El Arfaoui both earned All-American status on Thursday at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships.
Chelulei earned second team honors with a 12
th-place finish in the women's 10,000m with a time of 32:23.94 while being the fifth fastest freshman in the field.
She will have another opportunity to find the podium in Oregon on Saturday in the 5
,000m final as she becomes the first female Colonel to compete in both the 10,000m and 5,000m finals at the NCAA Outdoor National Championships.
In the 1,500m, El Arfaoui earned All-American honorable mention honors as she finished her sophomore season with a 17
th-place finish in a time of 4:12.87.
Action continues Friday for the EKU track team as
Kristian Imroth will run in the 3,000m steeplechase final, currently scheduled for 8:24 p.m. ET.
