CLEARWATER, Fla. – The Eastern Kentucky University softball team will open its 2026 season in Clearwater, Florida, at the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Leadoff Classic, Feb. 6-8, at the Eddie C. Moore Softball Complex.
The Colonels begin play Friday, Feb. 6, at 10 a.m. ET against Boston College on Field 3.
Later that day, EKU will face Tennessee State at 1 p.m. on Field 4. The Colonels have won their last four matchups against the Tigers, including a 5-0 victory in 2021, when current assistant coach
Sammi Miller went 3-for-4 with one run scored and two RBIs.
On Saturday, Feb. 7, EKU plays another doubleheader beginning at 3 p.m. against North Carolina Central on Field 4. The Colonels have faced the Eagles twice in program history, earning a 3-0 win in their last meeting in 2018.
EKU closes out the day with a 7 p.m. contest against Penn State on Field 9.
The Colonels wrap up the tournament on Sunday, Feb. 8, at 10 a.m. against Pittsburgh on Field 4.
