CONWAY, Ark. – The Eastern Kentucky University women's basketball team continued its historic start to Atlantic Sun Conference play with a 64-54 victory over Central Arkansas on Saturday afternoon inside the Farris Center.
With the win, EKU improves to 13-4 overall and 4-0 in league play, marking the program's first 4-0 start to conference action since the 2002-03 season. The Colonels are tied atop the ASUN standings with Florida Gulf Coast as results continue to roll in across the league.
Senior guard
Ndidiamaka Ndukwe led all scorers with a season-high 22 points, shooting 6-for-11 from the floor and 4-for-5 from beyond the arc. The Inkster, Michigan native added three rebounds, one assist, and one block in the victory.

Despite shooting 34.5 percent (20-for-58) from the floor, EKU controlled key areas of the game, out-rebounding Central Arkansas 43-41, and knocking down 10 three-pointers compared to four by the Sugar Bears. The Colonels handed Central Arkansas just its fourth home loss in three seasons under head coach Tony Kemper.
Central Arkansas (9-7, 2-2 ASUN) opened the game with a 6-0 run and led 14-11 after the first quarter, capitalizing on early EKU shooting struggles. Ndukwe and
Ella Bradley helped steady the Colonels and keep them within striking distance.
EKU seized control in the second quarter, outscoring the Sugar Bears, 28-13, to take a 39-27 lead into halftime. Ndukwe sparked the run with 13 points in the period, while Woods and
Althea Kara Angeles provided energy on both ends of the floor. Vaz anchored the interior, helping EKU dominate the glass and limit second-chance opportunities.
The Sugar Bears responded out of the break but were unable to close the gap, as EKU edged the third quarter, 14-13, to extend its lead to 53-40. Ndukwe and Freihofer delivered timely baskets, while Bradley anchored the defense in the paint.
Central Arkansas made a final push in the fourth quarter, but the Colonels closed the game with poised execution. Ndukwe scored six of her 22 points in the final period to help seal the 64-54 road victory.
