RICHMOND, Ky. – Riding a four-game winning streak to open Atlantic Sun Conference play, the Eastern Kentucky University women's basketball team returns home Thursday night to host Lipscomb inside Baptist Health Arena.
Entering the week, the Colonels are 8-0 in true home games this season and hold an 82.3 winning percentage (42-9) in the last four seasons at BHA.
Tipoff is set for 6:30 p.m. ET Thursday evening, fans are encouraged to pour into Baptist Health Arena with tickets starting at just $5 and available online

EKU (13-4, 4-0 ASUN) is coming off a pair of road victories last week against North Alabama and Central Arkansas. The Colonels erased a 13-point halftime deficit to defeat UNA on Thursday before completing a 10-point win Sunday at Central Arkansas, handing the Sugar Bears just their fourth home conference loss over the last three seasons.
The Colonels are one of just two teams in the ASUN to remain undefeated through the first two weeks of conference play and are off to their first 4-0 league start since the 2002-03 season.
Several Colonels enter the week earning recognition on both the conference and national stages.
Sophomore guard
Liz Freihofer was named ASUN Player of the Week for the third time in her career after averaging 18.0 points and 8.5 rebounds in wins over North Alabama and Central Arkansas. The Union, Kentucky native scored 26 points against North Alabama shooting 10-for-15 from the floor and 5-for-7 from 3-point range.
Fifth-year head coach
Greg Todd was also honored as the Week 8 WHoopsDirt.com Division I Women's Basketball Coach of the Week following EKU's perfect road swing.
As a team, EKU is receiving votes in the CollegeInsider.com Women's Mid-Major Top 25 poll for the second time this season and for the 14th week over the last three seasons.
Offensively, the Colonels feature three players averaging double figures. Freihofer leads the team at 14.2 points per game and has paced EKU in scoring seven times this season.
Senior forward
Joseana Vaz follows at 13.1 points and 7.3 rebounds per game, narrowly missing a double-double average. Senior guard
Ndidiamaka Ndukwe rounds out the trio at 10.2 points per game and has scored in double figures in six straight contests, including a 22-point outing in Sunday's win at Central Arkansas.
Scouting Lipscomb
Lipscomb (5-10, 2-2 ASUN) enters Thursday's matchup following a 63-42 home loss to Florida Gulf Coast. The Bisons have dropped two of their last three games under seventh-year head coach Lauren Sumski.
Senior guard Molly Heard leads Lipscomb at 12.7 points per game while shooting 41.2 percent from the field. The Pisgah, Alabama native last scored in double figures on Jan. 8 against Stetson, finishing with 13 points and two 3-pointers.
Series History
Thursday's contest marks the 12th meeting between EKU and Lipscomb dating back to 2000. The Colonels hold a 7-4 advantage in the all-time series, including a 4-2 edge in games played in Richmond.
