RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University women's tennis program dropped two matches today against Marshall, 4-1, and Kentucky, 6-1.
 
EKU (0-3) picked up the doubles point at home against Marshall in the morning and gained one singles match in the afternoon session on the road against Kentucky.
 
The Colonels gained two of three doubles courts in match one. Sasha Parkhomenko and Zhansaya Bakytzhan won 6-3 on court No. 2 over MU's Sarah Copley and Nour El Ouazzani. Izem Elif Olcer and Marilou Cote also won 6-3 on court No. 3 over MU's Paula Berzina and Thalia Smith.
 
Later in the day, junior Izem Elif Olcer gained her first singles victory of the season taking down UK's, 8-5, in a deciding first set. The Wildcats took the doubles point and won on the top three singles flights to meet the 4-point threshold needed for the win.
 
The Colonels return to action on Monday with another road match at Dayton. First serve is scheduled for 10 a.m. ET.
