DAYTON, Ohio – The Eastern Kentucky University women's tennis program went on the road and defeated Dayton by a score of 5-2 on Monday morning at the South Regency Tennis Center.
EKU (1-3) dropped the doubles point against the Flyers but stormed back to claim five of the six singles courts, securing victories on flight Nos. 1-5.
Colonels
Sasha Parkhomenko (7-5, 6-0),
Masha Fedenko (7-5, 6-1), and
Marilou Cote (6-0, 6-0) all came up huge with straight-set singles wins.
Ceylin Ipek and
Izem Elif Olcer also won in three-set thrillers giving EKU its four points needed to secure the win.
EKU returns to action on Saturday, January 31 with a road match against Indiana.
