KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Eastern Kentucky will begin play in the 3-day Mercedes Benz Intercollegiate, hosted by Tennessee, on Sunday at Cherokee Country Club.

The 15 participating teams include Abilene Christian, Baylor, Campbell, Charleston Southern, Chattanooga, East Carolina, EKU, East Tennessee State, Florida International, High Point, Kennesaw State, South Alabama, South Florida, Tennessee and Western Kentucky.

The 54-hole event will be contested on the par-71, 5,965-yard course at Cherokee Country Club.

The teams will play a practice round on Saturday starting at 1:30 p.m. Sunday's opening round and Monday's second round will begin with tee times at 9:30 a.m. The final round will have a shotgun start at 9:15 a.m.

EKU's starting five will feature junior
Karra Tucker, freshman
Mollie Neeley, junior
Maddi-Jo Benton, senior
Claira Ramsey Eden and freshman
Josie Kelley.

Through the first two events of the season, Tucker leads the team with a 71.33 stroke average. She has shot par or below in five of her six rounds, including all three rounds at Kentucky's Bettie Lou Evans Invitational where she tied for sixth.Â

Kelley has a 76.83 stroke average and has carded one round at par or better. Eden and Neeley both have shot season-low rounds of 75.

As a team, the Colonels have posted two top-10 finishes – placing sixth at the Redbird Invitational and 10th at the Bettie Lou.
