Final Results
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Eastern Kentucky women's golf team finished 11th at the 3-day Mercedes Benz Intercollegiate hosted by Tennessee.
EKU moved from 13th to 10th after a second round 288 on Monday. It was the lowest round by the team this season.
The Colonels dropped back to 11th after a final round 305, finishing with a 54-hole total of 894.
Host Tennessee (831) captured the team title by 11 shots over Baylor (842). High Point (848) was third and South Florida (850) finished fourth.
The Colonels were 12 shots behind 10th place Campbell (882) and 10 shots in front of 12th place Western Kentucky (904). Eastern also finished ahead of Kennesaw State (906) and Chattanooga (928).
The 15 teams competed on the par-71, 5,965-yard course at Cherokee Country Club.
Karra Tucker led the Colonels and tied for 42nd overall. After an opening round 82 on Sunday, the junior shot a 4-under round of 67 on Monday. She finished with a 3-round total of 221 after a 1-over 72 on Tuesday.
Claira Ramsey Eden (222) tied for 47th. She shot a 1-under 70 in round two.
Josie Kelley (223) tied for 51st. The freshman opened play with an even-par 71 on Sunday.
Maddi-Jo Benton (236) and
Mollie Neeley (236) tied for 78th.
EKU will be back in action Monday and Tuesday at the Terrier Intercollegiate hosted by Wofford College.
