MUNCIE, Ind. – The Eastern Kentucky University men's golf team finished sixth at the Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational, closing the 54-hole event at 17-over par at Delaware Country Club.

The Colonels posted rounds of 285, 293 and 279 to finish with a three-round total of 857 on the par-70, 6,624-yard layout. EKU saved its best golf for Sunday's final round, firing a 1-under 279 to move up three spots on the leaderboard passing Bowling Green and Georgia State.

Freshman Tucker Jones led the Colonels, tying for 12th individually at 2-over. Jones carded rounds of 72, 72 and 68, closing the tournament with a team-best 2-under round that included five birdies.

Jonathan Ericsson finished tied for 29th at 5-over following rounds of 74, 72 and 69. The junior closed with a 1-under final round behind six birdies, including four on the front nine.

Jacob Lewallen and Seth Barker finished tied for 44th at 9-over. Lewallen opened the tournament with a 2-under 68, EKU's lowest round on Saturday, before carding rounds of 74 and 77. Barker recorded rounds of 71, 75 and 73.

Zach Watterson rounded out the EKU lineup in a tie for 71st at 14-over. The sophomore bounced back from an 81 in the second round with a 1-under 69 on Sunday, joining Jones and Ericsson under par in the final round.

Milton Wallin, competing as an individual, also tied for 71st at 14-over with rounds of 74, 73 and 77.

Butler won the team title at 12-under, followed by host Ball State at 4-over and Wright State at 8-over.

EKU returns to action on Oct. 5-6 at the Cullan Brown Intercollegiate hosted by Kentucky at the Lexington Country Club.
