EKU Men's Basketball Hosts West Georgia Wednesday, Plays At Bellarmine Saturday

RICHMOND, Ky. – Eastern Kentucky University's men's basketball team will host West Georgia on Wednesday before finishing the week with a road game against in-state rival Bellarmine University on Saturday.
 
Wednesday's game will begin at 7 p.m. ET.  Saturday's contest is also scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.  Both games will air live on ESPN+.  The live audio broadcast of the game is available worldwide on EKUSports.com and the EKUSports app.
 
859 Night at Baptist Health Arena will be held on Wednesday.
 
THE COLONELS
-  EKU (9-18, 5-9 ASUN) has lost two in a row, both on the road.  The Colonels fell in overtime at North Alabama, 84-78, on Sunday.
 
-  Jalen Cooper finished with 16 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block against UNA.
 
-  In his last six games, MJ Williams is averaging 6.2 assists.  During that span he has 37 assists and only nine turnovers.
 
-  In the last four games, the Colonels have hit just 28% of their shots from behind the arc (35-for-124), including 20% (7-for-35) at North Alabama.
 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
-  West Georgia is 12-14 overall and 6-8 in league games.  The Wolves won two in a row over Jacksonville and at North Alabama before falling at Central Arkansas.  
 
- Shelton Williams-Dryden leads the team in scoring (20.6 ppg) and rebounding (9.5 rpg).  As a team, UWG averages 75.8 points and allows 79.9 points per game.  The Wolves have shot 44% from the field while their opponents have made 47%.
 
-  Bellarmine sits at 11-15 on the season and 6-8 in ASUN games.  The Knights host Lipscomb on Wednesday.  Bellarmine had won four in a row before dropping its last two at Central Arkansas and at Austin Peay.
 
-  Jack Karasinski leads the team in scoring (20.0 ppg) and rebounding (4.8 rpg).  As a team, the Knights are shooting 52% from the field, which leads the ASUN and is fifth in the nation.
 
INSIDE THE SERIES
-  The series with West Georgia is tied 1-1 with each team winning on its own home court in the first two meetings.  In the most recent meeting, the Wolves won 88-76 on Jan. 3 in Carrollton, Georgia.
 
-  EKU leads the series with Bellarmine 9-3 and has won five of the last six meetings.  The Colonels earned an 89-69 victory on Jan. 17 in Richmond.
