EKU Track & Field Heads to Winston-Salem for Wake Forest Invitational

RICHMOND, Ky. – It will be a busy two days for the Eastern Kentucky University track and field program, as the Colonels head to North Carolina for the Wake Forest Invitational on Thursday and Friday of this week.

33 Colonels will compete, representing the Maroon and White this week across 15 events.

EKU has found notable success in the past in Winston-Salem with Taha Er Raouy returning in the men's 1,500 meters after running a time of 3:41.24 a season ago. This year, he will be joined by teammates Bradley Giblin and Hamish Murray.

On the women's side Brighter Jepchumba will compete in the 5,000m with Morgan Kobylinski as Jepchumba looks to continue the impressive freshman campaign that has seen her already earn ASUN Freshman of the Week Honors.

Kristian Imroth will compete in the men's 3,000m steeplechase, his debut in the event in 2026 after finishing 12th at the NCAA Championships a season ago.

In the field, a plethora of throwers are set to compete, highlighted by Matt See and Lariah Wooden in the men's and women's shot put, and Senda Garma, JJ Love, and Daroyce Flemons in the women's and men's hammer.
