YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Fresh off a record-setting home-opening victory, the Eastern Kentucky University women's soccer team returns to the road to face Youngstown State on Sunday at Farmers National Bank Field.

EKU (1-1) enters the match following a dominant 5-0 victory over Cleveland State last Sunday. After heading into halftime scoreless, the Colonels erupted for a program-record five goals in the second half.

Five different Colonels found the back of the net in the victory, while EKU recorded five assists in a match for the second time in program history, marking the first since 2024.

Chiara Premoli opened the scoring gates with a penalty kick just 58 seconds into the second half.

The goal sparked a 17-minute stretch in which the Colonels found the back of the net four times.
Avery May capped the scoring in the 80th minute to secure the 5-0 victory.

Robin Reilly provided a spark as a substitute, recording the first two assists of her collegiate career in 44 minutes of action.

EKU won the shot battle, 14-8, holding the Vikings to just two shots on goal and controlling 53 percent of the possession.

Youngstown State enters Sunday's matchup with a 0-2-1 record after earning a 1-1 draw against Kent State on Thursday. The Penguins have scored a goal in all three matches this season, including against Power Four opponents Pittsburgh and Indiana.

Youngstown State was picked to finish third in the Horizon League preseason poll after posting an 8-10-2 record in 2025.

The Penguins return three all-conference selections in forwards Sara Felder and Kamryn Rosa and midfielder Camille Bultel. The all-conference performers accounted for 19 of Youngstown State's 29 goals last season.
