LEXINGTON, Ky. – Junior
Karra Tucker shot under par in all three rounds and Eastern Kentucky finished 10th at the Bettie Lou Evans Invitational hosted by the University of Kentucky.
Tucker began the tournament with a 1-under 71 on Monday. She finished the second round Monday evening with a 3-under 69. That included a two on the par-3 No. 12 and a three on the par-5 No. 13 hole.
The Madisonville, Kentucky native tied for sixth in a field of 75 players with a 3-round total of 211 (-5).
The 13 teams competed on the par-72, 6,242-yard Big Blue Course at the University Club of Kentucky.
As a team, EKU turned in rounds of 300, 290 and 305 for a 54-hole total of 895. The Colonels were eight shots behind ninth place South Alabama and six shots better than 11th place Jacksonville State.
UK (839) ran away with the title, finishing 11 shots lower than second place Penn State (850). California (863) and Indiana (863) tied for third. Lipscomb (871) rounded out the top-5.
Kentucky's Cathryn Brown captured individual medalist honors with a 10-under total of 206. Gia Raad (208) of Auburn was second.
Imogen Jessen (227) tied for 44th and
Josie Kelley (228) tied for 48th.
Maddi-Jo Benton (233) finished 63rd and
Claira Ramsey Eden (237) placed 68th.
Two Colonels played as individuals.
Cailyn Rogers (228) tied for 48th and
Mollie Neeley (239) was 70th.
The Colonels will be back in action at the Mercedes Benz Intercollegiate on Oct. 4-6 at the Cherokee Country Club in Knoxville, Tennessee.
